Hyderabad: Union Minister G Kishan Reddy has criticised the State government for making Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan read out lies in her budget speech on Friday.
He lashed out at the BRS government claiming credit for implementing various programmes."It shows the government's political bankruptcy".
In a statement issued in Delhi Reddy said even though Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has ignored the Jai Telangana slogan in recent times, the Governor ended her speech by saying 'Jai Telangana' . "It is proof of the Governor's love for people of the State".
"Through the Governor's speech, the State government claimed a sea change in the face of the Telangana villages. But, had the State government forgotten the fact that sarpanches were not given bills for village development? he asked.
Reddy said it would be better if the government mentions diversion of Central funds and weakening of the institution of local bodies. The minister pointed out that people of the State know the reality and why members of local bodies have been issuing notices moving no-confidence motions.
"Has the government forgotten the fact that the State, with a surplus budget of Rs 16,000 crore, has been pushed into debts of nearly Rs 5 lakh crore? he asked. "Why farmers are protesting at sub-stations if they are provided with 24-hour electricity.
Reddy also criticised the government for taking credit for many programmes undertaken with Central funds.
He stated that the State government has not released funds provided by the Centre for education of minorities, and despite the Centre's repeated requests, to send the details regarding SC student scholarships, the government is yet to responded. "It is regrettable that there is no response from the government despite writing several letters."
Reddy described as 'ridiculous' the State government uttering lies on job creation as per notifications issued. "While the Central government has set a target of 10 lakh jobs in a year and is also providing appointment letters to at least 71-75 thousand people a month, the State is encouraging disputes by issuing notifications," he claimed.
He took exception to non- mention of the Centre's assistance for the State's development in Governor's speech.
