GHMC urged to cover manhole

Bowenpally: The residents of Old Bowenpally are facing a lot of inconvenience due to an open manhole. The foul smell emanating from it is unbearable and also mosquito menace has increased in the area.

Locals said that the manhole has been kept open for the past one week and no safety measures have been taken to close it. "There have been reports of many incidents of sanitation workers and people falling into manholes in the city. Yet, the authorities do not seem concerned to avert an impending danger," said Yashwant Rao, a social worker and resident of Bowenpally.
