Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner RV Karnan inspected the proposed 4.3-kilometre-long, six-lane steel flyover corridor on Thursday, aiming to ensure signal-free traffic movement between Jubilee Hills Checkpost and NFCL Junction. The Rs 1,090 crore infrastructure project is designed to improve traffic flow, reduce severe bottleneck congestion, and provide smoother connectivity along one of Hyderabad’s key arterial transit corridors.
Accompanied by Khairatabad Zonal Commissioner B Santosh and senior GHMC engineering officials, RV Karnan reviewed ongoing foundation excavation and junction improvement works, focusing on expediting construction while minimising commuter inconvenience.
The Commissioner directed engineering officials to accelerate junction improvement works at KBR Park Main Entrance Junction, Agrasen Junction, and Jubilee Hills Checkpost Junction. These measures are intended to facilitate seamless, one-way traffic movement around KBR Park while improving traffic management across surrounding localities.
RV Karnan also instructed officials to immediately initiate geotechnical investigations along the stretch from Mugdha Junction to NFCL Junction to support foundation design and facilitate upcoming construction stages.
Furthermore, the Commissioner directed teams to speed up foundation excavation works and undertake steel fabrication simultaneously at off-site facilities for the section between Jubilee Hills Checkpost and Mugdha Junction. The parallel execution of civil works and off-site steel fabrication will streamline the construction process and enhance project execution efficiency. Once completed, the proposed six-lane bidirectional steel flyover will enhance connectivity between Jubilee Hills Checkpost and NFCL Junction, reduce traffic congestion, and provide commuters with a smooth, signal-free travel experience across the city.
