Speaking on the occasion, Sameer Waliullah alleged that the State Government had completely neglected the health sector, which resulted in the spread of viral diseases in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
He said people living in many slum areas were in the grip of viral fever, Malaria, Typhoid, Dengue and other diseases. Therefore, he said that the Congress party, in collaboration with Healthier Hearts Foundation, decided to conduct free health camps. He said that the health situation in the city has become so scary that all must contribute in whatever way they could to help poor patients.
TPCC spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin said that the health conditions in the city got deteriorated due to the negligence of State Government. He said that the GHMC's Monsoon Action Plan miserably failed and fogging and anti-larvae operations were not held in a proper manner.
This led to unchecked breeding of mosquitoes and then to the spread of vector-borne diseases. He said that the Congress party wanted to help the patients directly and therefore, decided to organise the health camps in slum areas.
Meanwhile, Sameer Waliullah informed that the next health camps would be organised at Golconda on September 28 (Saturday) and in Rasoolpura on September 29 (Sunday). He appealed to the people living in specified areas to avail of the opportunity.
