Efforts on to ease nala choking in Baba Nagar
Towards resolving the congestion and overflow of nala in Hafez Baba Nagar under Chandrayangutta constituency, a parallel sewerage line is being laid, as part of upgrading the existing infrastructure.
Chandrayangutta: Towards resolving the congestion and overflow of nala in Hafez Baba Nagar under Chandrayangutta constituency, a parallel sewerage line is being laid, as part of upgrading the existing infrastructure.
According to locals, the nala is over 25-year-old, which was constructed when the entire area was being developed and inhabited. Given the fact that the population of the area has increased and overloaded with the new connections from new colonies, the existing infrastructure failed in fulfilling the requirement.
"Due to congestion and overflow, the entire nala is being upgraded and a new diversion will be in place starting from Masjid-e-Osman-e-Ghani to Sunny Garden on main road, which joins the major nala at main road.
On the representation of AIMIM floor leader and Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, it is being upgraded. For the works, an amount of Rs 4 crore has been sanctioned and the works started this week," said Chandrayangutta division Corporator Abdul Wahab.
Speaking to The Hans India, Abdul Wahab said that the residents have been regularly complaining on the issue of overflowing twice a week, and hence these works were taken up. The works of upgrading are being sanctioned in different phases. In this first phase, an amount Rs 4 crore has been sanctioned.
The works include laying of new pipeline, along with new CC road. After the completion, the second phase will be taken up, and the entire works will be completed within six to seven months. We are trying our best to complete the works as early as possible", he explained.
According to the residents, the overflowing of sewerage is common in the area and many complaints had been given to the authorities and only temporary works had been taken up. "With these upgrading works, we hope there would not be any further overflow," said Mohammed Imtiyaz, a resident.
Shaik Wajid, another resident, pointing out at the dug-up roads, hoped that the works would be completed as early as possible, as the residents were facing hurdles while moving inside the locality.
