Qutbullapur: Responding to a news item published in THI tabloid on May 11 regarding the encroachment of government land in Suraram village limits, revenue officials filed a criminal case against one Mari Shivaraj, who encroached the government land bearing Survey No. 31.
After encroaching the land, Shivaraj leased it to a dairy milk company Jythothi Dairy for parking. This was stated by the Tahasildar of Qutbullapur K Gautham Kumar in a press note on Thursday.
RI Narender Reddy, along with VRO Rajanikanth, visited the encroached site on Thursday and conducted an inquiry. It was revealed that Shivraj had encroached the land after removing the display board indicating that land belongs to government, despite receiving warnings in this regard from VRO. Hence, a criminal case was filed against Shivaraj for encroaching the government land, Tahasildar said.
Gautham Kumar further stated that videography of the government lands would be undertaken to prevent encroachments in future. As part of the initiative, the government lands in Katta Maisamma, Devender Nagar, Kaisarna Garla of Gajula Ramaram revenue division and 54 acres and 20 guntas of land in Suraram, Qutbullapur and Petbasheerabad would be fenced and videographed in the first phase, he said.
Videography of the government lands has already been started in Suraram, he said, adding that necessary measures were being taken to save vacant government lands from encroachments.
