Dr Yadlavalli Venkateshwar Rao, who was awarded Padma Shri for his efforts in promoting organic farming, was felicitated at a program organized by IV Subba Rao Memorial Committee at a hotel in Lakdi-ka-pul on Sunday.

N Chandrashekhar Rao, professor at University of Delhi, who felicitated Venkateshwar Rao, said that it was a matter of pride for him to felicitate Venkateshwar Rao, who has done immense service for the welfare of farmers.
Chairman of Telangana Public Service Commission Chakrapani, who attended the programme as the chief guest, said that Venkateshwar Rao has been awarded Padma Shri for his efforts to raise awareness among farmers on innovative and organic methods of farming.
Apart from organic farming, his efforts to provide training in terrace farming, with a noble intention of providing unadulterated food to people who are living in urban areas, are praise-worthy, he said.
Chakrapani also lauded Venkateshwar Rao's efforts in raising awareness among people on the use of millets. Congress senior leader Kodanda Reddy also lauded several initiatives of Venkateshwar Rao to help farmers.
Speaking on the occasion, Venkateshwar Rao said that many farmers were benefited by the mobile apps to help farmers join the organic farming revolution.
He said he tried to help farmers, who were facing problems due to lack of proper price for their produce, not only through his app Raithu Nestam, but also through special training programs. He dedicated the award to all those who have been working for the welfare of farmers.
