Domalguda: Demanding the State government to take up the second phase of sheep distribution, Yadav Hakkula Porata Samithi gave a call for 'Chalo Assembly' rally from Indira Park to Assembly on Wednesday, however, the police arrested the protestors and foiled their plan to take up the rally up to Assembly.
- Protesters demand second phase of sheep distribution
- Govt had collected `31,200 each through DDs from 3,64,000 beneficiaries
About 100 Yadav community members led by Ramulu Yadav who started the rally from Indira Park were stopped on their way to Assembly and were shifted to Nampally police station.
Speaking to media during the rally, Ramulu said that the State government had collected Rs 31,200 each through DDs from 3,64,000 beneficiaries of sheep distribution programme but has failed to initiate the second phase of sheep distribution so far, even after one year.
Hence, a call was given to all the Yadav community beneficiaries from across the State to participate in 'Chalo Assembly' rally in protest, he said. He alleged that the police has stopped several Yadavs who were coming from various districts in the outskirts of the city and prevented them from participating in the rally.
He demanded an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh for sheep grower's kin in the event of his death. He also demanded an allocation of Rs 30 lakh to each village for constructing Yadav community buildings. President of sheep association Udutha Ravinder, Yadav Hakkula Porata Samithi president Mekala Ramulu Yadav and other leaders condemned the arrest of Yadavs who were fighting for their rights.
