BC bodies decry charges against Bhoomanna
The various BC associations which met here on Monday at BC Bhavan demanded immediate withdrawal of false police cases filed against Sarapanch Association president Bhoomanna Yadav to deter him from filing nomination as a candidate in the byelections to be held for Huzurnagar assembly seat.
Vidyanagar: The various BC associations which met here on Monday at BC Bhavan demanded immediate withdrawal of false police cases filed against Sarapanch Association president Bhoomanna Yadav to deter him from filing nomination as a candidate in the byelections to be held for Huzurnagar assembly seat.
Speaking to the media, R Krishnaiah, national president of BC Welfare Association, termed the arrest of Bhoomanna Yadav as illegal and demanded that the government withdraw all the false cases against him.
He said that Yadav wanted to file nomination to pressurise the government to heed sarpanches' demands, but he was taken into custody. Stating that contesting in elections is a fundamental right given by the constitution, he condemned the state government for preventing Yadav from filing nominations.
Krishnaiah said that people of the state would teach a befitting lesson to the ruling party for its anti-democratic and fascist attitude. He warned the ruling party that he, along with 2,000 activists of his organisation, would campaign against the ruling party candidate if the cases were not withdrawn.
BC leaders Gujja Krishna, ErraSathyanarayana, Neela Venkatesh, Narsimha Goud, Jillapalli Anji, Mallesh Yadav, Krishna, TR Chander, Upender Goud, Rajender, Madhusudhan, Venkanna and others attended the meeting.
