Vidyanagar: BC welfare association announced its support to state-wide bandh on October 19 called by RTC employees demanding merger of RTC with government and other 24 demands. This was announced by R Krishnaiah at the association meeting held here at BC Bhavan on Tuesday. The meeting was presided by Gujja Krishna, national vice president of the association.

Speaking to media after the meeting, the association national president R Krishnaiah called upon people to support the state-wide bandh and make it successful. He alleged that TRS government is trying to grab the properties of RTC by privatising it.

He expressed fears that privatisation of RTC would result in hike of bus charges by three to four times and poor would have to bear the brunt. He appealed to the CM KCR to call RTC employees for discussions and resolve the strike at the earliest. The strike would result in hampering business and education in the state, he said.

Irresponsible comments by the CM and his minister had led to two deaths, Krishnaiah alleged. Among those present were BC leaders Gujja Krishna, Venkatesh, Narsimha Goud, G Krishna Yadav, R Chandrashekhar Goud, Swathi, Swapna, Gajendra, Satish, Mahender Goud and others.
