Hyderabad: The father of an employee of e-commerce company Amazon has accused the company of not fulfilling the promise of paying the medical bill of his son undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad on Thursday, V Shankaraiah, father of the Amazon employee Sivaram (working as an SSA in Tolichowki branch), alleged that his son suffered grievous injuries on his head in an alleged attack by his colleague Muneer following an argument over an issue of product delivery.

He said they rushed their son to a private hospital in Secunderabad for treatment following a promise by the company that it would bear the entire cost of treatment He further alleged that the company had not kept its promise and forced them to spend Rs 15 lakh for the treatment of his son from his own pocket.

Shankariah claimed that his son was in coma now and battling for his life at the hospital. He urged the State government to intervene and render justice to them by taking immediate action against the company for cheating them.

Based on a complaint, a case was registered in Golconda police station earlier and according to reports the accused got the bail in the case. Parents of Sivaram are demanding police to take stern action against the accused.
