Banjara Hills: A 70-bed Sparsh Hospice facility for comfort and pain relief of terminal cancer patients is coming up at Khajaguda at a cost of Rs 13.13 crore. Construction of the 60,000 sft facility has begun and will be completed soon as per the availability and pace at which the funds are raised. The hospice is coming up in an acre land given by the State government.

The CEO of Sparsh Hospice, Rammohan, and Mallikarjun, the president of Rotary Club of Banjara Hills, said that out of the total estimated cost, they could secure some Rs 7 crore from individual philanthropists and corporate donors/foundations. They said they are organising a Sparsh Nite on June 21 at Shilpakalavedika, Madhapur, where Shankar Mahadevan will be performing.

They are planning to raise Rs 50 crore corpus fund and plan to run the facility with the interest earned from it as the hospital needs Rs 35 to 40 lakh every month to provide free service, the said, adding that Sparsh will provide free home care services and out-patient services to compensate for existing limited beds at the hospice.

Donor passes from Rs 750 onwards could be booked on www.bookmyshow.com. All donations to Sparsh Hospice are exempted under section 80G of Income Tax. For more details, call on phone: 7337537576 / 8686366666.
