Victims of Agrigold scam hold a meeting in the city
Vidyanagar: Telangana Agrigold customers and agents welfare association held a meeting here at BC Bhavan on Monday. BC leader R Krishnaiah, chief guest of the meeting, demanded that the State government take measures to ensure that victims of the scam get their lost money.
He demanded that the State government allocate Rs 600 crore to protect the victims, in the lines of the AP Chief Minister who had allocated Rs 1,150 crore for Agrigold victims in the State budget. AP CM Jagan announced ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each for the families of the victims who committed suicides, he said.
While the AP government took care of the victims, Telangana government remained indifferent towards victims' issues although 120 victims have committed suicides in the State, he lamented.
Agrigold had about 5 lakh customers in Telangana state and were cheated of Rs 600 crore, he said. He demanded that the State government protect them as uncertainty prevails on their investments. Krishnaiah appealed CM to intervene in this matter and see that the victims get justice.
BC leaders ErraSathyanarayana, Venkatesh, Krishna Yadav, Srinivas, Shanta, Ravi, Narayana, Balakrishna Reddy and others were present on the occasion.
