Call to plant saplings to protect earth

Narasaraopet: MLC and AP Green Executive Committee Chairman K Nagababu said that protecting greenery and increasing tree cover was essential for the survival of future generations. If trees disappear, earth would turn into another Mars, he said.

Nagababu participated as the chief guest in a programme organised by AP Green Executive Committee at RVS and CVS High School in Chilakaluripet on Wednesday, coinciding with the birthday of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. He, along with Chilakaluripet MLA Prathipati Pulla Rao, planted saplings with students and distributed saplings to them.

He said planting saplings with students for the first time after taking charge as chairman of the Green Executive Committee was an unforgettable experience. He appealed to every student to plant the sapling given to them either in their home premises or in a vacant space and nurture it.

Nagababu announced that special measures would be taken to increase greenery in Chilakaluripet with an estimated expenditure of Rs 3 crore. He said the programmes would be implemented successfully with the active participation of the people.

DFO Krishna Priya, school committee members Thella Subbarao, Mailavarapu Shivanandam Kumar, Bethancherla Ramakoteswara Rao and Kandimalla Sambasiva Rao, Market Yard Chairman Shaik Karimulla, Jana Sena leaders Mandalneni Charan Tej and Balaji, BJP leaders and other coalition leaders participated.
