Bengaluru: BJP State president Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the central government has proven to be a pro-peasant government by implementing the best schemes including Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) and Fasal Bima Yojana.

"Activists should be made aware of the content of the central and State government's programmes on farming," he said.

Speaking during a press conference here on Sunday, he expressed confidence that BJP will sweep Gram Panchayat polls.

"I have travelled extensively in districts and this time I am confident that BJP will be victorious," he said. Taking a jibe at the Congress, Kateel said that despite having meetings the party couldn't have a president. BJP State vice-president and MLA Arvind Limbayawali said party backed candidates are confident of winning the Gram Panchayat elections.

"People will choose the BJP supporters for its good. The BJP will celebrate December 25 as the birthday of Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Farmers' conferences will be held. Public will be made aware of the agricultural reform Act of the central government," he said.
