Directs officials to alert people in coastal villages and keep relief and rescue teams ready in vulnerable areas as well as immediate removal of hoardings along roads

Amaravati: Home minister Vangalapudi Anitha on Tuesday directed officials in cyclone-affected districts to remain alert and take all necessary steps to protect people from Cyclone Arnab.
During a teleconference with district collectors, she asked officials of all departments to coordinate their efforts, monitor the situation closely and take preventive measures without delay.
She directed officials to alert people in coastal villages and keep relief and rescue teams ready in vulnerable areas. She also ordered the immediate removal of hoardings along roads and in crowded public places to prevent accidents caused by strong winds.
Anitha said National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams were ready to respond to emergencies. She asked officials to ensure that rescue and relief operations could begin promptly wherever required. The home minister urged people not to believe rumours or unverified information circulating on social media. She advised them to follow official updates and instructions issued by the government and relevant departments. She said the government was prepared to deal with the cyclone and directed officials to take further precautions based on changing weather conditions. She said preventing loss of life and damage to property should be the administration’s main priority.
