Amaravati: The coalition government is committed to finding a permanent solution to long-pending land disputes in Andhra Pradesh and ensuring full ownership rights to landholders, revenue minister Anagani Satya Prasad said.
Addressing the Collectors’ Conference at the Secretariat here on Thursday, the minister said registration would be allowed for 9 lakh acres of freehold land that had been found compliant with the prescribed rules under the previous government. However, a decision on another 4 lakh acres, where irregularities have been identified, would be taken after a detailed inquiry, he said.
The minister said 28 lakh acres had already been removed from the prohibited 22-A list.
The government had issued GO No. 444 to simplify the process of removing land from the 22-A list. Of the 28,790 acres for which applications had been received under the new procedure, 1,100 acres had already been removed from the prohibited list, while decisions on the remaining applications would be taken soon. Under GO No. 445, whenever private land is proposed to be included in the 22-A prohibited list, the concerned official would have to establish the nature and status of the land, he said.
The Minister warned that strict action would be taken against officials who include private lands in the prohibited list in violation of the rules.
He said ownership rights had been restored to thousands of people in several long-pending cases, including Vatticherukuru, Shettipalli, Pulladigunta, Kangundi, Avulapalli and Gootupalli, besides four areas in Konaseema district. In the Kaikaluru constituency, more than 2,000 acres in four villages had also been removed from the prohibited list following the initiative of the local MLA.
The minister said the government was implementing the ‘Mee Bhoomi – Blockchain Technology’ project to provide a permanent solution to land-related issues and directed Collectors to continuously monitor its implementation.
He also said Re-Survey 2.0 was being carried out efficiently to avoid the mistakes of the previous government. While expressing satisfaction over growing public confidence in the Survey Department, he directed officials to ensure that the re-survey was conducted with 100 per cent accuracy.
