Set up cooperative marketing societies
The disagreement between the government and farmers on the new laws are fanning the flames continually. Increasingly angered and anguished farmers in Maharashtra and Punjab have burnt their products for not getting the money invested on the product. The latest illustration of Om Prakash of Bihar speaks of voluminous disparity between the cost of production by the farmer and price dictated by the big buyer in the mandi. Pulled down, he preferred to destroy the product than selling it at a price par below the cost of production.
MSP being the main demand of the farmers, the government should contemplate the idea of forming ' Cooperative Marketing Societies' at village level or cluster of villages to sell the products through it at mutually agreeable price between sellers and buyers.

The government is trying to come to terms with striking farmer unions, but pressing hard implementing the three laws. Thus, a stalemate continues and both the unions and the government is stubborn and the manpower and agriculture produce during the harvest season is hampered and the people watch the proceedings in a dejected way.
There is no teacher like adversity. To strive, to seek, to find, and never to yield!' This is the motto which, though centuries, has driven people and nations forward to success. Better counsel should prevail. It is now or never situation.

A controversial move
The promise to directly pay women, who are full-time homemakers a monthly amount, is ill-conceived and making undesirable and unwarranted inroads into the family life of a house-holder and disturbs the peace in a family life. It remains shrouded in mystery whether the new political party MNM (Makkal Needhi Maiam) led by film actor, Kamal Haasan, at the outset, made sure that the home maker is in no way, or not compensated at all for her household work.
The family life has firm foundations of mutual understanding and co-operation in all times and it is mean that either's services, leave alone home maker, are measured in just monetary units only.

US power politics
January 6 would go as a black day for Americans when its temple of democracy, the Capitol Hill was attacked and vandalised. It is hoped that the team of Biden and Harris takes severe action against the culprits and ensure prevention of recurrence of such incidents.
Mike Pence himself opposing provocative Trump is certainly a breather. We need such statesman who call a spade a spade. This is also a lesson to the leaders of other democratic countries to realise that power when misused can boomerang with the double the force.

Communal disharmony
In the wake of series of dastardly acts of vandalism of idols in places of worship in AP, the novel idea of community policing to protect the places of worship and to promote secular values in the state is highly commendable. ( Village defence squads step up vigil to places of worship,7 Jan 2021).
All the opposition political parties, like TDP, CPI, CPI (M), and BJP should give up their narrow political interests, and come forward to support the government ,in containing this pernicious virus of vandalism ,which has invaded a well administered secular state
