Story:

After a bomb explosion in the city of Hyderabad, controversial officer Vijay Varma, also known as Wild Dog, is brought back to investigate the case. When he identifies the mastermind, Khalid, Vijay conducts a covert operation to catch him.

Performances:

Nagarjuna is undoubtedly the biggest plus point of this film. Nagarjuna made the audience stick to the chairs with his captivating performance. Dia Mirza got an interesting role in this film and she did a convincing job. Saiyami Kher is too good in her role and showcased her versatility as an actress. Atul Kulkarni and Ali Reza are also good in their roles. Appaji Ambarisha Darbha, Avijit Dutt also delivered impressed with their performances. The rest of the actors also made their presence felt.

Technical Aspects:

The execution of the story by director Ashishor Solomon is good. He has handled some scenes really well and made the movie worth watching. He should get a bigger piece of the cake for his racy narration and tight screenplay. The cinematographer also delivered wonderful visuals which will make the audience continue watching the film. The music is good by Thaman. His BGM elevated all the key scenes. The production values by S. Niranjan Reddy and K. Anvesh Reddy under the Matinee Entertainment banner are good enough.

Verdict:

Director Ahishor Solomon needs to be appreciated for taking a genuine approach to this story rather than deviating it with unnecessary commercial elements. But he could have done a better job in making the screenplay tighter. Even though the approach was different, there are flaws in the movie. Most of the scenes are pulled off by the hero and not his teammates. The first half is quite slow but the second half compensates with interesting sequences. Totally, Wild Dog is a passable action thriller and can be watched for sure.
