Shyam Singha Roy is a 2021 Indian Telugu-language supernatural drama thriller film directed by Rahul Sankrityan and written by Janga Satyadev. Nani is coming up with the film to theatres after V and Tuck Jagadish that was directly released on OTT. The film also stars Sai Pallavi, Krithi Shetty, and Madonna Sebastian. Story:
Vasudev (Nani) is an upcoming filmmaker who gets huge recognition at the National level with his short film with Keerthi (Krithi Shetty). Nani gets arrested because he copied the short film story from Shyam Singharoy's book. Who is Shyam Singha Roy? Did he really copy the story? What happens in the end? Forms the story of the movie.
Performances:
Natural Star Nani displayed a one-man show with this film. His performance is unique and impressive. He donned two different getups in the film and has impressed everyone big time. His body language is good in the action sequences and he is also good with his dialogue delivery. Sai Pallavi is the best among the heroines and her look is extremely good. She looks beautiful in the movie. Krithi Shetty's performance is also impressive. Madonna Sebastian also gave her best to the film and was impressed with her performance.
Technical Aspects:
Technically, the film is good. The cinematography and the background score are major highlights of the film. The visuals are grand and the two timelines are presented nicely on the screen. The camera work of the film is exceptional. The audio is nice and the score elevated the mood and emotion properly. The director has given his best to make this the best film of his career and the production values are grand.
Verdict:
Rahul Sankrityan picked up an interesting plot and has driven it in an engaging way. The action sequences are good. The flashback track and the second half is extremely nice. The emotional elements are also good in the film. A few shortcomings of the film are the unimpressive flashback design and the slow-paced narration. Some logics of the film are also not up to the mark. Some scenes are boring in both halves and they add no value to the film. Shyam Singha Roy runs on a proper emotion and elevates every character perfectly. On the whole, Nani's film hits the bull's eye perfectly and emerges as an impressive emotional entertainer.
