Mr. King Review: King fails to deliver and is a tedious watch.

Let's take a look at Review of "Mr. King fails to deliver and is a tedious watch." the recently released movie, Mr. King, which features newcomer Sharan Kumar in the lead role. The film has been written, directed, and edited by Sasiidhar Chavali.

Story:

Sharan Kumar's character in the movie, Mr. King, is named Shiva, and he is a man who lives his life based on principles, ethics, integrity, rules, and standards. He is pursuing a degree in aeronautical engineering and also works as a part-time Radio Jockey. Shiva is passionate about making a difference in the field of aerospace and is determined to achieve his goals through his ambitious project, Project Vayu. However, things take an unexpected turn when two girls, Uma Devi (Yasvika Nishkala) and Vennela (Urvi Singh), enter his life. Both of them are cousins and fall for Shiva, causing a turmoil in his life. The movie reveals what Shiva does in such a situation, who he chooses between the two girls, and whether he ultimately achieves his goals or not.

Plus Points:

In his debut role, Sharan Kumar delivers an adequate performance as a principled young man striving to achieve his aerospace ambitions through Project Vayu while also working part-time as a Radio Jockey. Vennela Kishore's comedic timing provides some much-needed relief in the first hour.

Yasvika Nishkala has a more substantial role than her co-star Urvi Singh, and she portrays Uma Devi decently. Her scenes with Murali Sharma towards the end are passable. Tanikella Bharani and Murali Sharma meet expectations with their performances.

Minus Points:

The movie's major flaw lies in its storyline, which lacks coherence and structure. The narrative lacks a proper flow and feels like a collection of disjointed scenes. The absence of seamless transitions between scenes makes the events appear disjointed and out of sync.

Furthermore, the character of Urvi Singh, known for her role in Kota Factory, is poorly written and underutilized, resulting in her minimal presence throughout the film. The abundance of extraneous scenes makes the movie dull, and the filmmakers' intended message is unclear by the end of the film.

Additionally, the film becomes overly preachy, with never-ending conversations becoming tiresome. Mr. King tries to offer solutions to every issue related to career, relationships, and marriages, which negatively impacts the film's quality.

The movie's length is another drawback, as many scenes could have been trimmed from both halves. The songs' placement is poorly executed, and Sunil, a talented artist, is underutilized. Furthermore, since Murali Sharma did not dub for his part, the effect of his performance was lost.

Technical Aspects:

Mani Sharma's background score in the film is satisfactory, although it occasionally overshadows the dialogue. The cinematography by Tanvir Anzum is acceptable, and the production values are commendable. However, the editing, which is done by director Sasiidhar Chavali, is subpar.

The most significant aspect of the movie that could have been improved is its story, written by Sasiidhar Chavali. The plot lacks originality and is disjointed, with scenes abruptly transitioning from one to another. Moreover, the emotional elements of the film could have been executed more effectively.

Verdict:

In summary, Mr. King fails to impress with its weak plot and lackluster execution, resulting in a tedious viewing experience. The lead actor Sharan Kumar delivers an acceptable performance, particularly in his scenes with Tanikella Bharani. However, the film as a whole is a letdown, and it's not worth spending your time on. It's advisable to skip this movie if you're looking for a satisfying watch this weekend.
