Performances:

Gopichand is undoubtedly the show stealer of this movie. The actor has not only got a complex role in this film but pulled it off with so much of energy and invested his best performance for this role. We can say that Gopichand has appeared in a different kind of role when compared to his previous movies and gave his 100% for the role. Mehreen Pirzada is just average as she doesn't have much screen time. However, she will grab the attention with her glamorous performance in the movie. Her scenes and chemistry with Gopichand is watchable. Zareen Khan got an interesting role in this movie and she has delivered an energetic performance in the movie. Rajesh Khattar delivered an honest performance which added more strength for the film. Sudhanshu Pandey also gave his best in his role. The rest of the actors also made their presence felt.

Technical Aspects:

Director Thiru has prepared an interesting plotline for the film. The director has taken some strong characters, laced an interesting storyline among them and also succeed in presenting it in an intriguing way. We can say that the director did a mesmerizing job in engaging the audience from the start to the end. He not only took up a complex backdrop for the story but also made it easily relatable to the audience. Production values by Ramabrahmam Sunkara under AK Entertainments banner are pretty decent. Music by Vishal Chandrashekhar is outstanding. Keeping the songs aside, Vishal Chandrasekhar has given amazing BGM for the film which elevated the emotions and intensity of the scenes well. Cinematography by Vetri Palanisamy is beautiful and he has produced some sleek visuals for the film.

Verdict:

The movie has a strong plotline and the director has narrated it in a hard-hitting way. The movie starts off on an interesting note and the first 30 minutes of the movie itself will engage the audience. The entire first half is somewhat slow and is about the character establishments. However, the interval twist is outstanding. The things take a quick turn in the second half as the director starts to unfold all the twists and tie the loose ends. Moreover, it could have been more even more interesting if the director had concentrated on making the story as crisp as possible. However, Gopichand, screenplay, Abburi Ravi's dialogues and BGM can be considered as the major plus points of the film. Overall, 'Chanakya' is a well-treated story that is presented in an interesting way.
