Butta Bomma Movie Review: A Mixed Bag of Entertainment

Butta Bomma: A Slow-Paced Film with Impressive Performances

Satya (Anikha Surendran), a village girl, falls in love with an auto driver Murali (Surya Vashistta) after accidentally dialing his number. They meet in Vizag where they are followed by Ramakrishna (Arjun Das). The film explores the connection between the three characters and what happens next.

Pros:

The story of Butta Bomma is a faithful remake of the Malayalam film "Kappela". The simple and straightforward plot is easy to follow.

Anikha Surendran shines in her role as the innocent Satya. She gives an impressive debut performance and looks beautiful on screen.

Surya Vashistta also delivers a solid performance, despite being a newcomer. He effectively portrays different shades of his character.

Arjun Das, despite limited screen time, gives a noteworthy performance as Ramakrishna. His inclusion in the film was a wise decision by the filmmakers.

The dialogues, written by Ganesh Kumar Ravuri, are noteworthy. The film's cinematography also enhances its beauty.

Cons:

Butta Bomma's biggest flaw is its sluggish screenplay, especially in the first half. The film fails to engage audiences as the story is not narrated in a gripping manner.

The film also features 3 songs, but none of them are memorable.

Technical Aspects:

Although the dialogues are good, the screenplay could have been better written. The cinematography by Vamsi Pachipulusu is impressive and showcases picturesque locations in Araku. The background score by Gopi Sundar sets the right mood, but the editing could have been tighter.

Verdict:

Overall, Butta Bomma is a slow-paced film with key social messages. The standout performances by the leads, particularly Anikha Surendran, are the film's greatest assets. Despite some dull scenes in the first half, the film is worth a watch this weekend.
