Rana Daggubati played the lead role in Prabhu Solomon's Aranya. The actor and director duo teamed up for the first time for this movie. Eros International is the film's production house bankrolling the film. Vishnu Vishal, Zoya Hussain, Shriya, and others played the lead roles in the film. The film released today. Story:
Aranya (Rana Daggubati) is the Forest man of India. He takes care of the Forest and fights for the conservation of the same. One day, a real estate firm comes in to build a township in the middle of the forest, where Elephants take a walk to drink their water. With the township, the Elephants will have no other option than to get aggressive on the nearby villagers. In this scenario, Aranya fights for Elephants and the conservation of forests.
Performances:
Rana Daggubati played a very good character in the film. As someone who is born and brought up around forests, Rana is exceptional as Aranya in the movie. He displayed courage, empathy, love, and multiple shades through his character. Except for Rana, all the other actors are just there and did not have enough to perform. Vishnu Vishal is okay. Zoya Hussain and Shriya did not have enough scope to perform. Anant Mahadevan played a good role in the film. The rest of the cast made their presence felt.
Technical Aspects:
The dialogues of the film are very interesting. Vanamali penned the dialogues and lyrics of the movie. Technically, the film is good. Although the director could not convey the point properly, the film has a good background score and camera work. The visuals are impressive. The film's VFX work is just okay. The production values are grand. The production design is excellent.
Verdict:
The film has a Forest backdrop and the entire story takes place in the Forests. The film's director is successful in taking us into the world of Forests. However, the narration is weak and it failed to impress us. There is a love story involving Vishnu Vishal but it did not impress at all. The film has got a realistic taking and the director tried his best to convey the message about the conservation of Forests. Every character in the film tries to do something but only a few characters are neatly written. On the whole, Aranya has a good message but it fails to work.
