A woman in inebriated state created ruckus with her car on road here at Shamshabad in Hyderabad on Thursday and hit several people. Three people who were hit by the car suffered severe injuries and were sent to nearby hospital. Meanwhile, the local people managed to stop the car following which an argument erupted between the woman and the people. The police rushed to the spot and arrested the woman and another person along with her and sent the two people to police station.Read more

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday made a phone to Tollywood actor Chiranjeevi as the latter tested positive for COVID-19. The Chief Minister inquired about the actor's health condition and prayed for his speedy recovery. Rao also spoke the family members of the actor. In the recent times, Chiranjeevi met the Chief Minister several times and brought the issues of the Telugu Film Industry to the notice of the CM and sought support from the government.Read more

Andhra Pradesh government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said the state government was also ready to take a step back to clear misconceptions among employees about the PRC. He said the committee of ministers set up for the talks was available within the secretariat for the unions. In Amaravati, Sajjala spoke to the media along with Minister Botsa Satyanarayana. He commented to the unions that sitting somewhere and talking would not solve the problem. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday took Karvy chairman and managing director Parthasarathy into custody in the alleged money laundering case. It is known the Nampally court on Wednesday remanded Parthasarathy to four-day judicial custody following which the ED took the Karvy MD into custody from Chanchalguda jail. After a medical examination, he was sent to ED office for questioning. There were allegations that Parthasarathy obtained loan from various banks by pledging the shares of investors. Based on the case registered by the CCS police, the ED took Parthasarathy into custody from Bengaluru and brought him to Hyderabad on PT warrant.Read more

Hyderabad: Several parts of Telangana are reeling under severe cold wave-like conditions following the dip in the temperatures due to the winds. For the past few days, Adilabad district has been recording the night temperatures below 10 degree Celsius. The shocking incident was reported in Piduguralla of Guntur district on Wednesday where young man was seriously injured when he was electrocuted while taking a selfie on the top of a stopped goods train. The incident took place on Wednesday on the outskirts of Piduguralla town railway station. Going into the details Katikam Veerabrahman from the town lives near the railway station. The Tirumala Tirupati Temple Board (TTD) has given good news to the devotees who are looking forward to visiting the Tirumala deity for darshan. The Meteorological Office has forecasted heavy rains in Andhra Pradesh once again due to the surface basin formed from southern Tamil Nadu over Rayalaseema and now extends over south-central Karnataka. It continues at an altitude of 0.9 km above sea level. The Meteorological Department has forecasted scattered thundershowers and light to moderate rains in the southern coastal districts.
