Telangana government will allocate Rs 10 crore to strengthen the health systems in the state, said Health Minister Harish Rao. The minister on Saturday inaugurated 100-bed ICU unit at Niloufer hospital in Hyderabad. Later speaking to media, Harish Rao said that the government would bring another 800-bed ward in Niloufer by spending Rs 33 crore. He also asked the doctors to provide medical services on par with private hospitals.Read more

Hyderabad: Telangana State Planning Commission vice-chairman B. Vinod Kumar has claimed that the data gathered by the Centre proves that paddy cultivation has taken up over 59 lakh acres in Telangana during Kharif season. He asked state BJP president Bandi Sanjay what he will say now after criticising Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao over the extent of paddy cultivation. Vinod Kumar pointed out that according to the Remote Sensing Centre which mapped paddy cultivation across the country, paddy is being grown in 2.374 million hectares that is 59 lakh acres. This is expected to yield 7.543 million tonnes of paddy.Read more

The four-year-old girl who was found dead in front of a close shop in Dwarakapuri colony of Punjagutta was killed by her, said the police who arrested the woman and two others in connection with the case. Investigations revealed that the woman killed her daughter to save her extra marital affair. The police nabbed the accused in Ajmer of Rajasthan. They are said to be residents of Old City in Hyderabad.Read more
