Breaking News May 7 LIVE Updates: Rescue operations underway at LG Polymers, Visakhapatnam amid gas leakage

Breaking News Today, 7 May 2020: In a major chemical gas leakage reported at LG Polymers in RR Venkatapuram in Visakhapatnam district in the wee hours on Thursday, as many as three dead and more than 200 injured. The officials have been carrying out the rescue operations. On the other hand, the authorities have evacuated the people residing in the surrounding areas within a 3 km radius. It is learnt that the situation is said to be in control as of now. The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has ordered the officials for emergency rescue operations and is likely to visit Visakhapatnam to inquire about the situation and console the injured families

While in Telangana, there has been no major news, which is running smoothly except the social distancing being forgotten amid the opening of liquor sales. Moreover, the chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has urged the officials for a complete lockdown of Hyderabad and said that no people should enter or exit the city.

Coming to the weather report, the IMD officials have denied the speculations over the Amphan cyclone. However, they asserted there could be rains in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh due to continuous surface trough surrounding Telangana Rayalaseema and South Tamil Nadu.
