Andhra Pradesh Elections 2024 LIVE Updates

After a high decibel campaign, including by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and top leaders of Congress and BRS, the stage is now set for polling on Monday to elect 175 Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh.

The Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements to conduct free and free and fair polls. Prominent leaders including Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan, BJP state chief D Purandeswari and APCC president YS Sharmila are in the fray.

    TSRTC sets new milestones for AP polls

    The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) set a new milestone during the general elections, witnessing a surge in RTC bus usage, surpassing Sankranti records with over 10% of passengers opting for RTC buses.

    RTC Managing Director VC Sajjannar revealed that from the 9th to the 11th of this month, 1.42 lakh passengers utilised RTC bus services. Among them, 59,800 passengers travelled from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh, for which special buses were arranged. Read More

    CEO urges people to cast vote without fear

    Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena has appealed to people across the state to exercise their franchise freely without fear. “Everyone should participate in the festival of democracy which happens once in every five years,” he said.

    He called upon people from the Command Control Centre (CCC) here on Sunday to protect the democratic system by participating in the process of voting which is being conducted transparently and in a peaceful atmosphere.

    Mukesh Kumar Meena said that 4.14 crore people including 2.03 crore men, 2.10 crore women and 3,421 transgender are going to cast their votes in the polling on Monday. Read More
