Understanding false reality, false self
Living the truth in today's world acquires a development of soul, a capacity to remain aligned with spiritual truths amidst a world of lies, insatiable desires, mind control, false values, indoctrination and propaganda of every sort.
Living the truth in today's world acquires a development of soul, a capacity to remain aligned with spiritual truths amidst a world of lies, insatiable desires, mind control, false values, indoctrination and propaganda of every sort.
The world has always been the locus of temptation, distraction, and tests. But in today's world we are faced with a consciously constructed false reality that could lead us step by step toward ever greater enslavement.
Historical religion, by which I mean a concept that keeps us focused on the historical origins of spiritual tradition rather than the transformative knowledge embodied in sacred rituals and texts, can become a distraction, a preoccupation with little application, a dead end.
At a time when humanity is faced with the possibility of universal catastrophe, we cannot afford to be caught up in most of the doctrinal issues that have stirred controversy over the centuries.
The obsessions of religious puritanism, legalism, and fundamentalism, for instance, appear delusional when contrasted with the hunger and suffering of billions of human beings.
At the same time, the awakening of humanity necessary to confront the current confluence of crises will not be possible on a simply secular, materialistic basis, or some social, economic, or environmental theory.
What is required is a shift of consciousness, a change of vibrational state, a transformational energy that is not mere social conditioning, that is not based in the false self, living in a false reality.
The most profound changes in the human social order, the true civilizational developments, have historically been rooted in values aligned with higher reality.
Altruism, compassion, justice, inspired collaboration, experiences of transcendence, expressions of beauty are sourced in the human heart, and the human heart is sourced in the field of cosmic mind which is the greater reality.
If the secular materialists reject the concept of a God as a specific person who exclusively owns a particular region, they are rightfully rejecting an immature dogma, a stain on the fabric of pure truth.
But if such scientific materialists propose that reality is only an accidental conglomeration of material energies out of which consciousness randomly and unexplainably arises, they are in denial of both higher metaphysics and the science of today, which has made it clear that a unified source field exists beyond the space time, electromagnetic reality, the quantum plenum in which conscious human intention and free will can be a cause of far-reaching effects.
This source field of consciousness is, moreover, not merely a quantitative reality, but a qualitative dimension which gives rise to experiences of relationship, meaning, compassion, generosity, and love.
These values are inherent in reality itself and not merely accidental experiences produced by our electro-chemical, biological organisms.
The totality of reality including and beyond the space-time, electromagnetic dimension, the whole field of material, energies, and values, which form a single related whole, my rightfully be called in the language of religion "sacred."
