All of us look back to yet another episode of our favorite show after a tiring day. And so one episode turns into another, and we binge-watch the whole season until we realize. Even our kids take on the same patterns and demand television the minute they come back from work.

For fact, television isn't the only way we're introduced to digital screens. An urban man spends most of his day looking at a smartphone or a laptop computer. Extended hours of screen use have adverse health implications. It affects our eyesight, and often leads to headaches. Screen exposure is unavoidable during work or study, which makes it necessary to account for the amount of time we spend in recreational vision.

Here are a couple of suggestions that you and your family can follow to reduce the time spent on the device.

schedule time :

You may start by creating a schedule for each family member that specifies the amount of time they are allowed to watch TV. For kids this method works best. Strict timetables limiting TV and laptop time to a minimum are best made. It is equally important for you not only to follow the schedule for your own wellbeing, but also to set an example for your children.

Tech-free zones:

Set house times and zones where no use of technology is allowed, and be strict about them. One way of doing that is to prohibit the use of telephones or television at the dinner table or during a family outing. Encourage fun activities can require everyone's involvement. That will also bring your family back together with a significant reduction in digital screen time.

Say no to devices in bedroom:

Should not in general install a television in the bedrooms of your family members. Seeing a TV right in front of your bed makes you feel compelled to spend more time there. It also offers you a lesser opportunity to track how much time your family members spend on the phone. In the case of kids, you sometimes lose control over the type of content that they watch.

Educate about the risks of over-exposure to screens:

It's also crucial that you address the consequences of screen use with your family before you start to curtail the time they spend on Netflix. Address and come together with ideas that fit your family lifestyle.

Parental controls and monitoring apps may be used as a more serious step, in particular when coping with children. Nevertheless, it's crucial to regulate every member of your family's screen exposure regardless of their age. You and your family should sit down and work together on a plan that suits everyone.
