Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting, which is celebrated by the Muslim community all over the world. The Islamic calendar is determined by moon cycles, which last for either 29 or 30 days. The sighting of a new moon indicates the beginning of a new month.
As the crescent is not sighted tonight, Saudi Arabia will be celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr on Sunday, May 24 2020. Muslims in Saudi Arabia and across the world have been waiting for this auspicious day to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr. Throughout this holy month of Ramadan, they observed fast from dawn-to-dusk. Every Muslim is excited to know the date for Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr 2020.
According to the astronomers at the observatory of Majmaah University, Riyadh, the probability of sighting the crescent on May 22 was very less. But after the crescent was not spotted, the date of the Eid in Saudi Arabia is confirmed as May 24 2020.
