The exhibit takes inspiration from Monica L Miller’s book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.

The dress code for the Met Gala 2025, ‘Tailored for You,’ encourages guests to celebrate the artistry, precision, and uniqueness of traditional and modern tailoring.
