The world celebrates June 21, 2020, as International Yoga Day, with this year's theme being in line with the global pandemic — 'Yoga for Health - Yoga at Home'. Embodying this idea effortlessly is producer and entrepreneur Deepshikha Deshmukh seen practicing yoga with her children, Diviyaana and Vansh at home in Latur. The family has been home together and yoga is one of the many things they have found joy in. An unfailing yoga enthusiast herself, Deepshikha is glad that her children are building an interest in the activity as well.

"We all lead extremely chaotic and busy lives, so this stop-gap has allowed us to really bond and find rewarding activities to do together. Yoga was always something I personally found peace in, i am a big fan of Pranayams and I think its what intrigued Diviyaana and Vansh as well. They've proactively begun to join my morning sessions, and it's extremely calming to guide them and great fun. It's a wonderful activity to indulge in with our families at home to get away for a little bit," Deepshikha said.

International Yoga Day was instituted by the UN in 2015 to raise awareness about its benefits. Having originated in India, it forms a part of many personal routines in the country as a way to keep fit and stay centered, and often manage stress and anxiety issues. Deepshikha feels that it's a practice not just for the adults and that children should practice it as well. "Its a tough world out there and future generations should be equipped to deal with anything that comes their way. Being accustomed to a calming activity like yoga can only bode well for our young ones in the future," she added.
