Simple, contemporariness for everyday has been the mantra of Skagen watches, which now extends into their jewellery collections

In a bid to attract young, professional Indian women, Danish watchmaker Skagen Denmark, a subsidiary of the Fossil group, has recently launched in the country seven jewellery collections that merge affordability with timeless Danish design, making the pieces naturally modern, functional and simple.

The Denmark-born brand, which completes 30 years globally and 10 years in India, launched collections inspired by seasons and nature, with a focus on "simple, easy, everyday jewellery for a core audience of between 20-35 year age group", Johnson Verghese, Managing Director, Fossil Group, India said.

The collections include Anette, which features bracelets and beads in multiple plating and colour combinations; Kariana, which experiments with scale to create imperfectly balanced pieces; Sea Glass, inspired by the seaside village of Skagen in Denmark; Merete, which translates steel mesh into modern yet feminine jewelry pieces; Agnethe, which celebrates pearls by utilising the classic element in an inventive, modern ways; Ellen, which combines rich gemstones with light-reflecting metallic; and Elin, Skagen's most minimal collection of classic, simple pieces.

Founded in 1989, Skagen was inspired by the Danish coastal town from which it borrows its name. The brand is known for its watches, wearables, jewellery and leather goods.
