Women's Day is a very special day for women all over the world, irrespective of race, ethnicity, nationality or socioeconomic status.
Women's Day is a very special day for women all over the world, irrespective of race, ethnicity, nationality or socioeconomic status. March 8th was celebrated as a public holiday or a traditional day similar to Mother's Day when children of all ages give presents and flowers to their mothers, grandmothers, teachers or aunts.
However, Women's Day is not widely observed as a special occasion in many other countries. Anyhow, in some countries, women's groups also manage to spread the news about Women's Day by developing programs, coordinating events, and letting our women know that the day is one to celebrate them because they deserved to be valued and honoured for the hardship and suffering they suffer because of social injustice. Banners, lectures, and charity events are organized to spread information about the empowerment and resilience of women of all ages around the world.
There are several ways to celebrate Women's Day, depending on your budget, emotions, or whether you know that the women or woman you love this day is there at all. I bet your grandmother knows nothing at all because my answer was, "Eh? What day have you said?"
Here are the suggestions I'd gathered from my friends and I hope you'll consider them helpful.
- 1) Organise an action or do something
- 2) Wishing them on call
- 3) Writing a poem:
- 4) Offering Donation
- 5) Hosting a small party :
- 6) Call out for Dinner :
Organise an action or do something:
It depends on who this person is for you now. That's easy if it's your mum. Without her understanding do part of her house chores. Surprise house duties are sure to make her happy. Since she has done all the house chores on a daily basis while some nagging could happen, a day off is the best action for a hardworking mom.
Wishing them on call:
Give serious thought to the woman or women for whom you want to thank and why. It needn't be your mother or grandmother. It can be your favourite, best friend, Aunt, grandmother, darling, mother, wife or even friendly neighbour. Give a call to that particular woman or women when she is home. Wish her a Happy Women's Day, and say why you think she's special to you. I'm sure she will be shocked and thankful that somebody really respected her.
Writing a poem:
Write a poem to your favourite teacher to thank her for her advice and guidance. You have not worried about those verses and grammars because you can copy and paste them from free poem websites. Alternatively, if you are on a tight budget, give her a gift, a cheap one will do. As long as she knows that you have appreciated her, she wouldn't mind. Search for love poems which include words of gratitude, love and her presence in your life for your wife or girlfriend. It would be great to copy and paste them into your handmade cards, or a simple note and a handmade gift. If you don't have a gift in mind, then send an SMS to her phone, email her or leave a voice message. Simple gestures often work a lot and are producing great results.
Offering Donation:
Breast Cancer Foundation, Women Violence Center, Old Folks Home or orphanage houses can be donated. There is a box for certain charity located near the information counter in some locations, such as post office, shopping centres, or public places. If you have any cash in spare, you can make your donation this. For those people, a little effort means a lot. You can also take your friends or family members to visit the above-mentioned places. Bring some food, clothes or everyday needs to those unfortunate people, girls and old folks as part of your gesture. Chat with them and you will understand that we should be more grateful for what we have, appreciate our loved ones particularly the people or wives of our lives.
Hosting a small party:
Yeah, give your special woman or spouses a treat. You can have an afternoon tea with her or them in a café, or maybe invite her or them to your house and give your favourite cookies or cake a treat! If you intend to invite her or them, you need to prepare the food in advance or everything will be a mess. Freshly brewing tea and cookies with fun over an afternoon tea party at home saves a lot of money, time and gives you more talking room when all the chatters get louder. Café afternoon tea is only appropriate for two to four people. Too many then make a place on the market. You need to bring extra cash because you're the host because you're treating them to tea. You can't expect them to pay for your own meal or beverage.
Call out for Dinner:
Call all your friends, parents, sisters and aunts. If you just plan to have a family reunion, remove your relatives. Otherwise, if they are not related to your family members, they would find very uncomfortable joining in the happy event. Each of them has to bring a dish, dessert or main course to the location they decide. It can be served at or at picnic locations. Enjoy each other's company and chat about anything you gals had been dreaming about before.
So, here are a few suggestions to make this day a special one in your life for your special woman. Here we wish everyone a Happy Women's Day, and celebrate it!
