Mysuru: Talakadu in TNarsipura taluk of Mysuru district is all set for 'Panchalinga Darshana' from Thursday to 19 December.

Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has been invited to participate in 'Panchalinga Darshana' on 14 December, the fifth Monday of 'Karthika Maasa', on 'Bahula Amavasya' when there is 'Jeshta Nakshathra' (star) in 'Vrischnika' month of Hindu calendar. It is believed that devotees will attain moksha, if they do 'Panchalinga Darshana' or see Lord Shiva in five forms/faces during the auspicious time between 4:30 am and 7:30 am.

As per the recommendations of the Covid Technical Advisory Committee, only people of Talakadu, B Shettyhalli and Holesaalu grampanchayat limits of TNarispura taluk will be allowed to participate in 'Panchalinga Darshana'. It's a must for those visiting all the five temples at Talakadu to carry Covid negative report.

Police outposts and barricades are being set up at the entry of all these three places. Arrangements for Covid screening by health department have been made at the police outpost. Devotees will not be allowed to take a holy dip this time in view of the coronavirus threat. The rituals of 'Panchalinga Darshana' will be live telecast from December 14 to 17.

Mysuru district administration has submitted a final proposal for spending Rs 2.2 crore for the event including RS 32 lakh for the rituals.
