Mysuru: The Wadiyars, the erstwhile royal family of Mysuru, played perfect host to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday. The Prime Minister had a sumptuous breakfast at the residential wing of the erstwhile royal family at the Palace. Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, her son Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, his wife Trishika Kumari and their son Adyaveer had a breakfast with Narendra Modi.

The menu included upma, beaten rice, idly with sambar and chutney and Mysore Pak, mixed fruits among several other South Indian delicacies served in shining silverware. The cooks from Fernhill Palace Hotel at Ooty and Regency Villa, the hotels owned by Wadiyars, had been brought in to prepare the breakfast for the visiting dignitaries.

Modi who was in awe of the palace and its interiors, also shared a lighter moment with Adyaveer by garlanding him with the garland he was honoured with during the reception at the palace. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai. Lakshminarayan personal secretary to the Wadiyars was also present.
