Bengaluru: “Our new cabinet has been well balanced in composition, we have appointed 33 Cabinet Ministers, following a specific set of criteria. Rather than appointing first-time winners, we have chosen to include those who have won elections three or four times, both seasoned politicians and fresh faces. This diverse cabinet reflects our commitment to fulfilling the aspirations of the people who have shown immense support to us. Our primary objective is to deliver on our promises and ensure the welfare of the people” said Chief Minister S Siddaramaiah today.

After participating in the oath-taking ceremony as a cabinet minister, Siddaramaiah emphasized our dedication to fulfilling five key promises in the new cabinet. “These promises have been meticulously outlined and will guide our actions. While we have striven to create a balanced representation, it is important to acknowledge that certain districts, including Kodagu, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, and Haveri, have not received ministerial positions. We understand that this may cause some discontent, but we assure you that decisions were made based on a standardised process”.

Siddaramaiah addressed the concerns regarding district representation, acknowledging the dissatisfaction expressed by some. “We have taken into account both newcomers and experienced individuals, striking a balance to ensure effective governance. Our focus remains on delivering on the five guarantees we have set forth. Unlike the opposition, who failed to fulfil their promises, we are determined to fulfil each and every commitment made to the people. Siddaramaiah has instructed the relevant authorities to provide a detailed plan, which will be finalized in the upcoming cabinet meeting. The allocation of responsibilities will be announced shortly”. He said.

It’s worth mentioning that Chamarajanagar MLA Puttarangashetty’s concerns were taken into consideration. After holding discussions with him, we incorporated a criterion whereby MLAs who are first-time ministers are not included. Consequently, some districts were not represented in the ministerial positions. Although this decision may have raised concerns, Puttarangashetty himself expressed no resentment.

‘We assure the people of Bangalore that we are dedicated to delivering on our promises, prioritizing their well-being above all. With a comprehensive cabinet in place, comprising 34 ministers, we are poised to serve the people with utmost diligence and efficiency’

Siddaramaiah said.
