Thousands of young talents assembled early in the morning at Gachibowli Stadium here on Thursday, to unleash their creative bests on papers and crafted a wonderful world of paintings, flabbergasting the organizers and their teachers alike.
Over 21, 000 students from 198 schools in and around Hyderabad, clad in different uniforms and carrying pencils, sketch pens, crayons and easers sat in rows and breathed lives into papers in the unique event organised by The Hans India and supported by the Kapil Group, HMTV News, Knowledge Partner Viswagru world Records, Nutrition Partners is SoulFull, Refreshing Partner PlushKinsand Sprinkler and Gift Partner Amar Chitra Katha. The event created Vishwaguru World Record, making the participants, organisers and various schools proud. The theme was 'Hamara Hyderabad'
The event was inaugurated by Navin Mittal, IAS, Commissioner, Collegiate Education & Technical Education at government of Telangana. The chief guest was RamuSarma, The Hans India Editor.The Hans India Executive Director Hanumantha Rao and others were present.
The children's imagination, when it comes to talking about Hyderabad city, took flight at the arresting charm of Charminar and Golconda Fort. More than 90% of the children in the event were seen sketching these two most iconic structures.
The event got a tremendous response from both students and their guardians. Students during the event were seen showcasing the artistic skills on the plain sheets which were provided to them. Every sketch made by the students at the venue had its own uniqueness and each student here came up with creative ideas.
When asked G Sheela, a class 6th student from Candor Shrine Senior Secondary School, about why she chose to draw Charminar, she said, "I love drawing and I have been to Charminar many times with my parents. I remember every detail of the monument. Drawing Charminar is also very easy to draw."
About 21,000 students participated from 198 schools across the city. Highest participation was from Sri Chaitanya High School with 3,850 students followed by Creek Planet School with 1,400, Jubilee Public School with 800 students, Sister Nivedita with 500, Gowtham Model School with 650, Sri VidyanjaliSchool with 530. The total capacity of the stadium is 30,000. All the students would get participation certificates and the best 500 students will be selected for the best painting awards.

This event got an overwhelming response from both the students and their guardians. This could be observed through the colours and sketches spread on white sheet displaying innocence and innovative thinking of students from their paintings.The competition succeeded in nudging the children to hone and harness their creative talents and present their dreams on paper. The students were seen enjoying the sweet melody song "Ae Watan Mere WatanAabad Rahe Tu" while drawing sketches.
All the participants will be issued certificates of participation.The best 500 selected paintings will be awarded at a function soon.
