Visakhapatnam: GITAM admission notification for 2020 released
GITAM Deemed to be University Vice-Chancellor Prof.K.Sivarama Krishna on Thursday released the notification for GITAM Admission Test (GAT-2020). Addressing a press conference at GITAM Vizag City Centre on Thursday, Vice-Chancellor informed that GAT-2020 will be conducted from April 11-21, 2020 at 50 centres across the country.
Visakhapatnam: GITAM Deemed to be University Vice-Chancellor Prof.K.Sivarama Krishna on Thursday released the notification for GITAM Admission Test (GAT-2020). Addressing a press conference at GITAM Vizag City Centre on Thursday, Vice-Chancellor informed that GAT-2020 will be conducted from April 11-21, 2020 at 50 centres across the country. The admissions into 21 B Tech., 13 M.Tech., programmes, BPharm., M.Pharm., programmes and M Arch program is based on GAT-2020 ranks, he added. He said that the university is offering these programmes at Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Bengaluru campuses.
To encourage students on national level, GITAM Deemed to be University has decided to offer merit scholarships of Rs 30 crore from 2020 academic year, GITAM vice-chancellor Prof.K.Sivarama Krishna said. For this the university would offer free education to top rankers in GITAM Admission Test-2020 (GAT-2020) and other entrance tests such as JEE main exam, AP-EAMCET and Telangana EAMCET.
GITAM Introducing AI, MI in Civil, Biotech., etc
In view of growing demand and future opportunities GITAM Deemed to be university is introducing Internet of Things (IOT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) courses were introduced in every branch of engineering from the academic year 2020, informed by Vice-Chancellor.
New Programmes Offered in B.Tech., (2020-21)
1. All B.Tech., programmes - Biotechnology, Civil, CSE, ECE, EEE and Mechanical are specialised with IOT, AI & ML.
2. EEE - specialised with Robotics and Automation
3. Mechanical – specialised with Electric and Hybrid Vehicles
New Programmes Offered in M.Tech., (2020-21)
1. ECE Dept. - Biomedical Signal Processing & Instrumentation (Visakhapatnam)
2. Mechanical Engg. Dept. - Manufacturing Technology & Automation (VSP & Hyd)
3. Mechanical Engg. Dept. -Mechanical with Computer Aided Engineering (Hyd)
4. Civil Engg. Dept .- Computer Aided Structural Analysis & Design (Hyd)
How to Apply
Candidates can apply online on website www.gitam.edu from 15th November. GAT-2020 applications are also available at counters set up at Union Bank of India, Indian Bank and Karur Vysa Bank branches. The last date to apply for GAT-2020 is 30th March 2020. Online slot booking for GAT-2020 will be opened on 5th to 7th April 2020. The candidate can download hall ticket from above-mentioned website from 5th April onwards.GAT-2020 results will be announced on 25th April 2020. The counselling for admissions will be held in the second week of May 2020.
About GAT-2020 Test
The duration of the test is two hours with objective type questions for 200 marks he said. The applicants can download the GAT-2020 syllabus directly from the web site merit scholarships.
Financial assistance
GITAM offers financial assistance worth of Rs.30 crores to the deserving meritorious candidates:
1. Merit Scholarships in the form of Fee concession to top 3000 rankers of GAT-2020 for admission into B.Tech., programmes:
2. 1 to 50 rankers will get 100% fee concession
3. 51 to 250 rankers will get 75% fee concession
4. 251 to 1000 rankers will get 50% fee concession
5. 1001 to 3000 rankers will get 25% fee concession
6. GITAM also provides Merit Scholarships in the form of fee concessions to the rankers of JEE ( Main)-2020 and AP & TS EAMCET-2020 for admission into B.Tech., programmes.
JEE Main Ranks:
7. 1 to 500 rankers will get 100 % fee concession
8. 501 to 5000 rankers will get 75% fee concession
9. 5001 to 10,000 rankers will get 50% fee concession
10. 10001 to 1,00,000 rankers will get 25% fee concession
AP & TS EAMCET Ranks:
11. 1 to 250 rankers will get 100 % fee concession
12. 251 to 1000 rankers will get 75% fee concession
13. 1001 to 5000 rankers will get 50% fee concession
14. 5001 to 25,000 rankers will get 25% fee concession.
Fee concessions will be continued in 2nd, 3rd and Final year B.Tech., subject to scoring 8.0 and above CGPA every year.
15. Merit Scholarships will be awarded to top 2% of B.Tech., students in each department of GITAM Institutes @Rs.50,000/- per year subject to scoring 8.0 and above CGPA every year.
16. Teaching Assistantships will be offered to meritorious M.Tech., and M.Pharm., students @Rs.50,000/- per year.
GITAM- new initiatives
17. GITAM Career Counselling Centre (GCCC) was established to give career guidance to the students for employment opportunities, Entrepreneurship Development and Start-up Guidance. The GCCC is also to give guidance to students for Higher Studies in Abroad (coaching for TOFEL, ILTS, GRE) and offer coaching to appear for Competitive Exams such as GATE, Civil Services etc.
18. Digitalisation of content process was implemented to expose the students to Industry 4.0 Technologies.
19. GITAM has collaborated with North-eastern University, Boston, USA to nurture the students for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Start-up ecosystem.
