Two students from Manthan School have won prestigious ‘Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards’ for their exceptional performance in Cambridge International exams in 2018-19.
Hyderabad: Two students from Manthan School have won prestigious 'Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards' for their exceptional performance in Cambridge International exams in 2018-19. Kavya Pothapragada topped in World in Cambridge IGCSE in Mathematics (without course work). She is currently studying in 11th grade in the school. Suhas Kellampalli topped in the country in Cambridge International AS Level in Biology. He is currently pursuing his 12th grade with the school. They are achieved this distinction across three series. This year, 207 Indian students from across the country have been declared winners and have received Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards.
'Top in the World' refers to the learner who has gained the highest standard mark in the world for a single subject, similarly 'Top in the Country'. There are over 800,000 subject entries for Cambridge IGCSE exams each year. They competed with lakhs of students across the world and one topped in the world and the other topped in India.
Reacting to the news announced by Cambridge on Wednesday, Ramakrishna Reddy, head of Manthan School said: I am happy to note that two of our students shined so well among 207 elite who excelled across the country. It is a matter of great pride and recognition for our commitment to the excellence, said he. Adding further, he stated that the biggest benefit of Cambridge Curriculum is that it makes students very confident individuals who can think for themselves, make rational choices, set ambitious targets and achieve them with hard work. Subject depth achieved is very high along with breadth of learning experiences offered.
Apart from learning, through advanced career counseling we guide students to understand their passion, choose appropriate careers and select the relevant courses and colleges that will help them realize their dreams", said Ramakrishna Reddy.
Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards are a group of awards issued by Cambridge Assessment International Education. They recognise exceptional learner achievement in Cambridge examinations around the world. The primary purpose of these awards is to celebrate and recognise the success of high-performing students.
The awards recognize exceptional exam performance in 2018-19 under four categories – 'Top in the World', 'Top in the Country', 'High Achievement Award' and 'Best Across'. The number is much higher compared to 173 winners in 2017-2018.
