In a bid to promote environment-friendly idols of Ganesha, a group of NSS volunteers of GITAM Deemed-to-be University, Hyderabad made eco-friendly Ganesha idols by using clay.

Hyderabad: In a bid to promote environment-friendly idols of Ganesha, a group of NSS volunteers of GITAM Deemed-to-be University, Hyderabad made eco-friendly Ganesha idols by using clay. About 150 volunteers and students participated in 'Eco-Ganesha' event and made Ganesh clay idols in different forms.

"Everyone should try to protect the environment and by using clay idols which will not only save the environment but protect your devotion" said DVVSR Varma, Resident Director after selecting the best idols. He gave away the prizes to the winners in the presence of Prof G Sunil Kumar, Director, School of Architecture, Prof A Sreeram, Director, Students Affairs and Dr P V Nagendra Kumar, Coordinator, NSS.

GITAM NSS bags 2nd Prize

GITAM Deemed-to-be University, Hyderabad National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers Ananya Kambhampati and Rayapudi Krishna Chaithanya won 2nd prize in the state-level debate competition. One week NSS State level 'Jal Shakthi Abhiyan Camp' on water conservation and rainwater harvesting held at Kakatiya University, Warangal during August 21-27, 2019. The duo bags this prize in this camp.

Prof N Siva Prasad, Pro Vice-Chancellor, DVVSR Varma, Resident Director, Prof A Sreeram, Director, Students Affairs, Prof S Phanikumar, HoD, CSE Department, Dr P V Nagandra Kumar, NSS Coordinator appreciated the duo on their achievement.
