Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management has organized an event ‘ Parichay’ for the newly enrolled students at the campus. The occasion was attended by Laxmi Asu inventor and Padma Shri awardee, Chintakindi Mallesham as chief guest.

The occasion was attended by Laxmi Asu inventor and Padma Shri awardee, Chintakindi Mallesham as chief guest. Addressing the students he said, 'nothing is impossible, if you have strong desire and inclination to reach higher goals .
He said he hails from a weaving community and was witness to the hardships in rolling the yarn physically. He had a strong desire to relieve his mother's pain. It takes 7 to 8 hours to roll the yarn, he said. To find solution to this problem, he invented the machine which works on electricity. It took me seven long years to invent the machine, he said. The machine brought revolution in the lives of Pochampalli weavers, he said.
In his motivational talk he shared his journey from a common man to a man whose name was listed in Forbes' list of seven most powerful rural Indians.
He also shared his most amazing experiences of life and gave audience some important life lessons. How to become successful in life, he said to the students ' Always remember where you are and where you want to go'. Though he is not well qualified and finished 10th class only, his sheer determination, will to succeed at higher levels made him to invent the machine, Mallesham said. He said his machine received widespread recognition, as he received Rashtrapati Award in 2009 and 2016 and also "Amazing Indian "award from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said he got Padma Shri award in 2017 for his invention. The Director of VJIM, Dr. Ch S Durga Prasad, faculty, students attended the programme.
