Over 7.5 lakh students are participating in the first stage from nearly 5,500 schools in India on November 29

New Delhi: To promote mathematical competencies required to face the challenges of 21st century, a joyful mathematics competency assessment - Aryabhata Ganit Challenge is being conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education for the students of classes VIII to X.

The ability to reason logically and present arguments in creative and convincing ways is a skill that is becoming increasingly important in today's world.

In mathematics, it is essential that students learn with proper reasoning and assumptions, they can arrive at results that they can fully trust to be true in a wide variety of real-life contexts.

The Aryabhata test will mainly focus on the extent to which children are able to apply mathematics to their daily life and it is aiming to promote joyful learning of Mathematics.

The affiliated schools of CBSE from across the country and abroad have responded enthusiastically to this challenge. The first stage of the challenge has commenced from November 18 and will continue till November 22.

7,71,214 students from 5,457 affiliated schools are participating in the first stage of Ganit Challenge to make it one of the largest joyful assessments in the country.

Final stage of the Ganit Challenge will be held on November 29 wherein 3 top students from each registered school will take part in the computer based test.

The feedback from the performance of the test will help the Board to handhold the schools and children in application of mathematics in daily life.
