Hyderabad: Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) will take precautionary measures at all the 94 examination centres set up in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to conduct TS EAMCET 2020.

According to officials, so far about 1.45 lakh students have registered for Engineering and another 75,000 candidates for the Agriculture and Medical streams to appear in the test in online mode.

Speaking to The Hans India, TSCHE, Chairman, Prof T Papi Reddy said, in each session, about 25,000 students are likely to take tests for around 2 hours, in two sessions every day.

Against this backdrop, the TSCHE has decided to ensure that the Covid norms are strictly adhered to at each and every examination centre. Accordingly, it was decided to sanitise the examination centres before the examination. A gap of three hours between each session will be maintained. During this gap of three hours, the examination centres would be sanitised after session, he added.

That apart, the examination centres will be provided with sanitisers, thermal screening facilities as part of the safety measures.

The students have to come wearing masks, their own water bottle and carry their own small bottle of sanitizer. Also, one parent will be allowed to accompany each of the students till 1000 meters of the test centre.

At the end of the examination during every session, the students will be allowed to leave their examination hall one after another. This is to ensure that the students are not gathered in groups, he added.

Similarly, he also asked the students and parents to strictly comply with the safety norms, which, they will be briefed to create awareness, he said.

There are 90 centres in Telangana and four centres in Andhra Pradesh. The Council is also taking similar safety measures at the TSEAMCET-2020 centres located at Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Tirupathi and Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh, he said.
