CBSE Board Exams 2020: Guidelines To Change Exam Centre And Eligibility Criteria

CBSE Board Exams 2020: The novel virus Covid-19 has created a terror situation all over the world which made many countries to opt for lockdown. This made all the exams including the entrance ones and board exams too get postponed.

As well all know that got postponed, the Government of India has released the new schedule for these exams and they will be scheduled between 1st July to 15th July, 2020. Along with taking the necessary measures and safety precautions, the CBSE board will conduct the exams in a hassle-free manner.

CBSE board released the notification regarding this announcement on Tuesday informing students that the pending CBSE board exams would be conducted in the home schools itself. This means students need not go to other centres and happily give their exams at their home schools itself.

Moreover, students who stay far away from their schools have an option to go for a request of exam centre change. But this should be done before the mentioned date.

It is already known that, the HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal had announced that students would be able to change their CBSE board exam centres for the pending exams in order to ensure safety on 20th May itself. But the CBSE board has released the complete notification today i.e on 2nd June, 2020.This notification has all the details regarding eligibility criteria for the same, the process to be followed, guidelines and last dates for all the work along with the guidelines on how to change the examination centres.The new CBSE Class 10, Class 12 board exam datesheets had been released on May 18.

Students can make use of CBSE's 'Exam centre locator' app to know more details about their board exam centre. Even nodal exam centre option is also available for those students who are not currently in the school district and are present in a different location.

According to it, each district will have a nodal exam centre with CBSE affiliated schools. This exam centre will be used by CBSE students who moved in to a different city or district during the lockdown period.

• Students who are residing in hostels.

• Students sponsored by state governments.

• Students who have shifted from the district of their school to some other district within India.

• Even the private candidates who shifted from their district of examination centre to some other district in India are also eligibleto make a request to change their exam centre.

Regular Students

For the regular students,they need to make exam centre change requests through their own schools. First, they need to contact their schools and then it is possible to go with a request for examination centre change.It is the school's sole responsibility to contact each student and know about their location and then send the same information to the CBSE board.

Schools need to use the 'e-pariksha portal' to provide information about their students. Information needs to be uploaded at once and then they need to click on the submission link.Remember once closed link will not be opened again so schools need to be careful while submitting the data.

Private Candidates

Coming to the private candidates, they need to apply directly through the CBSE mentioned portal. It is applicable for all the students

• Appearing for second change compartment.

• Failures of previous year exams.

• Additional subject only applicable for female candidates of NCT of Delhi.

• All the visually impaired candidates appearing as private candidates.

• Even Patrachar Vidyalaya candidates who have shifted from their district of examination centre to any other district in India.

• Finally, the candidates who have moved to another country. This is applicable for all the candidates who were studying India and have shifted to other countriesand want to appear for the board exams.Remember no examination in other countries will be conducted by CBSE for such candidates. So, those students should again travel to India and give their exam.

Safety Guidelines To Be Followed During CBSE Board Exams 2020:

As per orders by the home ministry, following safety guidelines as we slowly come out of the lockdown period is a must.

• Social distancing should be strictly followed by every student and invigilators' safety should also be taken care by the school management.

• Students need to carry their own sanitizer bottles and cover their face with the mask.
