Narayanpet: Stressing the need for setting up of a Sainik school in Narayanpet district, Mahbubnagar MP Manne Srinivas Reddy, while speaking in the Parliament on Friday, urged the Central government to immediately take steps to set up a Sainik School and provide better educational facilities to the people of the backward region.
The MP expressing his concern that the Narayanpet district has been ignored in almost all segments such as education, industry, employment and overall socio-economic development in the erstwhile Mahbubnagar district, the MP demanded the government to immediately set up the Sainik school. In fact, earlier last year, the Central government had agreed to the Telangana government's proposal to set up a Sainik school in Narayanpet and budget allocation for the same has also been done. However, even though a year has gone by, nothing has been done to set up the school. As part of this, the MP raised the issue and urged the Central government to direct the Human Resources Ministry to take immediate steps for setting up the Sainik school in Narayanpet.
The MP also reminded that government of Telangana comes under the category of bigger States and as per the provisions of the Human Resources ministry, every bigger State must get two Sainik schools and urged the central government to sanction two Sainik schools for Telangana and one should be in Narayanpet.
