An engineering graduate Divya Komirishetty had immense passion towards baking since her childhood.
She started baking for her family and friends, who liked her baked goodies very much. The word of mouth spread like fire and now her hobby has turned into profession.
"I haven't had the idea of starting a business, I started making chocolate truffles initially for my friends and family members.
They recommended me to their contacts, and I started getting small orders and then I started making other varieties of chocolates.
Subsequently, I started to take bulk orders."
"Initially, I had an inclination towards cooking. I followed many pages on Facebook and I found out that many people were into cakes and cupcakes business, so I wanted to do something different from others, very few people are into truffles and cookies then I started to concentrate on these and tried to make them in different flavours.
About two years back when I visited the US, I have seen cookie cakes and I got an idea of baking cookie cakes.
After coming back to Hyderabad, I haven't found any person making these cookie cakes, so I thought this is something different and then started doing them.
It has been five years since I am doing this. "I take up orders for birthday parties and kitty parties. I bake for any occasion."
Divya informs that she tied the nuptial knot at an early age and had kids immediately after marriage and that made her more inclined towards baking.
Divya makes these delicacies only after getting orders. "I never make them earlier and preserve.
I just take orders and then make them when the orders are placed. I take the orders two days prior to the event and then make them so they will stay fresh and yummy," the 33-year-old shares.
About managing her professional and personal life she says, "I never say no to any of my orders.
I wake up early in the morning and cook for my family. I do not have a cook at home; I do everything on my own. I thought of placing a stall in a few events, but then I did not want to disturb my daily routine and so I take orders and make them.
"I manage time according to the order I get, and I hire a helper if the order is big. They do not help me bake but then they help in packing the chocolates and cakes," she adds.
Sharing about her signature dish cookie cake she says, "Cookie cakes are the two-layered with cookie and chocolate layer in between.
These cakes also are made in four different flavours. The cake serves around five to six people."
Creating new ideas for packing and making it more attractive she has made her business reach to the next level.
"I am happy with whatever I am doing now, I like how I am balancing things right now and would continue taking orders like these," she adds.
One can find her products on her Facebook and Instagram page 'Nikstruffles'.
