Dia Mirza and Alec Baldwin make for a stunning pair of hosts; both to host for the United Nations once again

Stunning actor, UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador and SDG Advocate Dia Mirza has been playing a key role in bringing India to the forefront at UN events the world over.

Apart from playing a prominent role as a speaker and panellist at the upcoming Climate Action Summit in New York, which is one of the biggest summits of 2019, Dia will also host the Champions Gala on 26 September along with Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin.

Hosting together for the second time in a row, Dia and Alec were seen last year at the Champions Gala 2018 entertaining the audiences with their camaraderie.

"As we are confronted by a climate emergency, it matters and means more than ever before to witness individuals and their work that is transformational, that is innovative and is so deeply inspiring.

The Champions Gala has always been a platform that has given me a sense of optimism, courage, and belief that we can, and we will make a difference as human beings and change our ways to ensure a healthier, a more peaceful planet.

I am so happy to be hosting this special evening with the inimitable Alec Baldwin who is so real and relatable and such a champion of sustainability and climate action," says Dia Mirza.

The UN Climate Action Summit and Champions Gala, which is to be held in New York from 21 to 26 September, will host prominent leaders, change agents and influencers to stimulate conversations and execute policies that will showcase a leap in collective national political ambition.

The UN will also celebrate and commemorate environmentalists from around the world who have been leading the way with their efforts.

Dia Mirza has been an environmental changemaker, a voice and torchbearer for causes related to nature.

She has been an advocate against single-use plastic and campaigned with the United Nations on #BeatPlasticPollution in her role as a goodwill ambassador for the environment.

With an added responsibility as an SDG advocate, Dia uses every chance she has to create awareness and inspire people.
