Surbhi Jyoti talks about modern motherhood
Actress Surbhi Jyoti shares how motherhood in the modern era needs to be a blend of both tradition and awareness, whereby mothers will understand the reasons behind certain traditions.
While talking about her views on motherhood recently, Surbhi Jyoti (Qubool Hai and Naagin) said that while many aspects of motherhood have changed, the essence stays the same.
“I think you don’t have to do away with all the traditions your elders practised. You just need to understand why they are doing it and take an educated decision,” she added.
“We don’t have to follow everything our grandmas did. One of the positives of being a modern mom is that you can question why traditions are done and understand why they are done. Then decide what is best for your family.”
Surbhi became a mom on June 13, 2026. She and her husband Sumit Suri welcomed their first child, a baby girl. The couple took to social media to share the exciting news.
The actress has been very open about her experience of giving birth. In an Instagram AMA she shared that she had a normal delivery and talked about staying active during pregnancy.
In response to a fan asking for tips, the actress said that she walked, stretched and did light workouts. “I walked a lot, stretched and did some light workouts. It helped me,” she said.
Overall, Surbhi has shared how important it is to make educated decisions. She has talked about traditions, motherhood and pregnancy. This gives mothers an insight into how they can utilise their knowledge in the modern era without completely disregarding traditions. (IANS)
